At Skintology we believe in transparency, we are proud of our products and ingredients and love to tell you about them!
We have carefully developed our sheet masks with the best results for single use formulas in mind. We ended up with amazing products getting the most out of the active ingredients at safe and effective concentrations.
Here are some of the Key Ingredients you can find in our products.
Niacinamide is an active form of Vitamin B3. Niacinamide forms the essential constituent of the oxidoreduction coenzymes NAD and NADP, which decline with age in our skin. NAD and NADP are essential in the metabolism of cells. Niacinamide has shown great effect on enlarged pores, fine lines and uneven skin tones. It is anti-inflammatory, strengthens the elasticity of the skin and reduces skin sensitivity. Who wouldn’t want this?
Sodium Hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. It has the same benefits as hyaluronic acid but is more easily absorbed. Hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate can attract and hold large amounts of moisture which makes it a powerful hydrating ingredient. It will plump the skin which will in turn diminish fine lines, even out skin tone and texture as well as increase skin radiance. Amazing!
Glycolic and lactic acid to gently exfoliate and hydrate the skin. We have used a low concentration of Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) in the Fresh Start mask for the purpose of a single use formula and using the full 30ml all at once. It provides a gentle exfoliation that suits even a more sensitive skin type. AHA is a chemical exfoliation, which means it loosens up the bonds between the skin cells in the upper layers. It also helps the skin retain moisture. The result is hydrated and smooth looking skin.
Licorice root extract
One of the components in licorice, glabridin, is a powerful antioxidant as well as being skin-soothing. There is also evidence supporting licorice root extract improving an uneven skin tone. This s why we find it being the perfect complement to AHA, it helps to soothe any irritation that may arise from using AHA for the more sensitive skin, as well as work together with the AHA on making the skin tone more even. Simply the perfect combo!
Also known as Provitamin B5. Panthenol has the ability to bind water to the skin and is very hydrating. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can help calm irritated and sensitive skin. Good for everyone!
Amino acid complex
Amino acids play a vital role in maintaining our health as well as the appearance of the skin. Amino acids are found naturally in the skin and works as natural moisturising factors (NMF’s). Their main benefit in skin is to maintain skins hydration and smoothness. In skincare, amino acids aid in strengthening our skin’s natural defence system and in turn help protect from environmental damage to the skin. Get strong!
Our bio cellulose sheet is made from fermented coconut juice. By adding bacteria to the coconut and letting it ferment for a few days a jelly substance will form. Sound weird? Don’t worry it is completely safe for skin. The bio cellulose is actually both hydrating and anti-inflammatory. And let’s not forget about the cooling, de-puffing effect it has on skin.
